INVITING SUGGESTIONS / COMMENTS FOR APPROVAL OF LONG TERM POWER PURCHASE AGREEMENT BETWEEN MAHARASHTRA STATE ELECTRICITY DISTRIBUTION COMPANY LIMITED AND M/S LANCO ENERGY PVT. LTD.
CASE No. 27 of 2006
1) Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has filed a Petition with the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission on August 30, 2006 for approval of Long Term PPA executed with M/s Lanco Energy Private Limited (LEPL) for purchasing saleable energy from 500 MW Teesta VI Hydro Electricity Project to be developed in the State of Sikkim.
2) The Commission has directed MSEDCL to invite objections, comments and suggestions from authorized consumer representatives, various stakeholders (including consumers) and general public in the State of Maharashtra, on the Petition filed by MSEDCL including the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). Suggestions / comments on the Petition should be submitted to the Secretary of the Commission in person or by post (in 6 copies) or by fax / e-mail so as to reach by January 6, 2007, with a copy to Director (Operations), Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited, 6th Floor, Prakashgad, Bandra (E), Mumbai – 400 051 and should carry the sender’s full name, postal address with pin-code number, and e-mail address, if any. It should be indicated whether the comments / suggestions are being made on behalf of any organization or category of consumers, and whether the sender wishes to be heard in person by the Commission, in which case opportunity would be given at the Public Hearing scheduled as below and for which no separate notice would be given.
3) A Public Hearing will be held on January 9, 2007 at 11 hours at Vista Hall, 30th Floor, Center No. 1, World Trade Center, Cuff Parade, Colaba, Mumbai – 400 005.
4) Copies of the Petition (including PPA and Executive Summary) will be available at their Head Office as well as Zonal Offices at the cost of Rs. 25/- (Rupees Twenty Five only) within one week from the date of issue of this Notice and also available the same on its website to enable downloading free of cost.
